I was blown away by Laser Wolf. I had heard good things about it and was definitely skeptical about prices at first, but left incredibly satisfied with my meal and experience. Firstly, upon entering the restaurant, we took an elevator to the rooftop where we were greeted by stunning views of Manhattan and the river. I ordered a Dirty Dancing, which was a delicious cocktail. We did run into a slight issue where the glass chipped right as my boyfriend took a sip and I think he might've swallowed glass?!? But the waitstaff was kind enough to replace it for us. The food itself was delicious. All the "appetizers" are refillable so the salatim with the several small plates, the naan, and the hummus in the middle are subject for refills. That hummus was INCREDIBLE. My boyfriend and I were so surprised at how smooth and light it was. All the side dishes as well were so good. But the real star of the show were those mains. The Salmon Shishlik and the Lamb and Beef Kubideh were INCREDIBLE. I never even knew someone could cook salmon like that. The entire time my boyfriend and I were babbling on about how soft and how fluffy it was. The rice, too! Since it was our anniversary, the staff was kind enough to give us complimentary drinks (non alcoholic and alcoholic) and I am so appreciative!!! Also do NOT sleep on that ice cream for dessert!! It is DELICIOIS and I would've had thirds and fourths if room allowed. Great place, minus the glass hiccup at the beginning!
The food was very good. We enjoyed the lamb and brisket and did not feel the need to add anything on to the set menu. The views are beautiful, especially around sunset. Service was a bit slow and inattentive.
It's been a year and it's still just as good as the first time I was there. Laser wolf is a great place to enjoy wonderful views, food, and has a great vibe. I got the shawarma spiced cauliflower and the dorade - both excellent. I liked the dorade a bit more but again - both are great. The salatim are delicious, balanced, and endless. The soft serve at the end never disappoints- hard to leave room for it but there's always room for dessert, right? The price for what you get is also really worth it, IMO. The music can be loud, so turning it down a smidge would have been nicer but honestly everything else is great. If you can't get a reservation, try your luck as a walk in for the bar. Come hungry!
I have been trying to get a reservation here for what feels like ages, and it was finally meant to be. Everything 100% lived up to my expectations. The view was beautiful and the food was amazing. Probably could have filled up on just the dips and sides alone, but the grilled meat was also so good. My only note is that the bar seats are not the most comfortable. If you have a choice go for a table!
Laser Wolf is such a gem. From the service to the food to the ambiance, it was incredible. My friend and I were greeted so warmly by all of the staff upon arrival and throughout the entire time we were at the restaurant. The menu is set where you each order an entree, and the price includes the entree, salatim (unlimited refills), and a dessert. My friend and I did not want to order our own entree, so it was a $26 add-on on top of the price of the entree. We chose to get the Dorade (sea bream), and it was DELECTABLE. The skin was perfectly crispy, but did not feel greasy, and the fish itself was flaky. Perfectly cooked fish in my opinion. It came with a leek salad on top, which was such a fresh flavor to the fish. The salatim is 100% worth the hype. All the sides were incredible, and you could really get full just off of the salatim because of the unlimited refills. The ice cream at the end was also so good, I loved the peanut butter bombas on top. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I'd definitely recommend.
This honestly might be one of the best value restaurants I have been to in the city. We were able to walk in right at opening for bar seats on Sunday, and it was really enjoyable. The restaurant is located on the rooftop of a hotel with an amazing view of Manhattan's skyline, and the whole restaurant is open kitchen. We started with the Get Shislik'd (5/5) and Sour Patch Kidz (3/5). The Get Shislik'd was like a slushee cocktail and tasted so light and refreshing, and was perfect for the hot day. Sour Patch Kidz was not my cup of tea though... was a bit sour and strong; tasted a bit odd. The first course was the hummus + salatim (4.5/5), which came with 2 fresh, hot pitas. This was unlimited refills :O and it was so fun to try all of the side dishes! We had to get a second round since all the side dishes were so refreshing -- honestly the best appetizer. For mains, we got salmon (5/5) and the steak (4/5). When I say this is the best salmon I ever had in the city, I absolutely mean it. The salmon was cooked medium and extremely tender... it melted in my mouth and really required no chewing at all! The skin was also super crispy, and the side of tzatziki cucumbers was so so refreshing. If I come back, I am most definitely getting the salmon again. The steak was also really juicy and tender, cut into bite size cubes, and came with a side of delicious caramelized onions and another baba ganoush-like dip. The mains came with a side of rice. Not entirely sure why, but they also gifted us a side of fries with tehina ketchup (4.5/5)! These were addicting! The fries came fresh out of the oven and piping hot, and were extremely crispy. The tehina ketchup tasted like an elevated, lighter ketchup which I really enjoyed! For dessert, we got brown sugar soft serve with burnt date molasses and peanut butter bamba (4/5). The soft serve was really light and smooth (not sure if brown sugar is my flavor of choice), but the peanut butter bamba added such a nice and subtle crunch to each bite. Great way to end the meal!
We stumbled upon this restaurant because it used to be French, but now it is a mixture including Mediterranean. T Our waiter left everything to be desired and he was right (except the drinks, they needed work). It was quite fulling and tasty!! I will go again. The ambience was satisfying with many trees feeling like an outdoor experience. The Staff was kind and attentive. The drinks were $18 and up, small, and something I won't order again, however it was an experience.
We had a group of 4 who were staying at the hotel. This is a very hard to get into restaurant and lines are out the door. However they do have a first come, first serve bar area which we took advantage of at 5:30pm. We took a side elevator straight up to the rooftop with sprawling views from downtown to Stuyvesant town to midtown. It was a cold evening so there was cover. There is a huge open kitchen area where the skewers are grilled and a large bar area. We sat at the bar. Since we were there just for views and drinks, we ordered martinis and the Lion cub (no alcohol, which I was so glad they had a separate side menu for). Additionally we ordered the fries which had a delicious sauce. Very nice ambiance, nice views however anything else I cannot comment. However would love to try the dishes next time as they look amazing.
